Light – we all know what this is. But do you know that our understanding of light changed considerably over the last 100 years.
This course will explore the fascinating and mysterious properties of light and at the same time provide a beautiful journey through the transformation of science from the early days to the science we know today – with plenty of cool experiments.
- Did you know that we can use light to measure the thickness of your hair?
- Did you know that we can measure light wave lengths with a microwave and chocolate (that we can eat after the experiment 😉
- Did you know that we will do two experiments that earned the original inventors a Nobel price (Michelson and Albert Einstein). How cool is that??
We will learn how the understanding of light changed in the last 200 years and how experiments with light single-handedly paved the way for the modern quantum physics.
This course is best suited for high school students (Year 7-10)
